Though I am almost freakishly tall (which is why I wore flats for my first day of work). And though I tend to be long winded as well... today's post is going to be refreshingly SHORT and hopefully pretty sweet.
Why?
Because I spent the last hour starting and re-starting the lame LeapPad like computer I'm using, only to realize that for some reason the click function isn't working. Lovely! If you haven't tried to navigate a web page, much less correct internet problems, using only the tab and space keys, plus the space bar lately I highly recommend you give it a go. It's just so fun.
So fun that though I've been at Starbucks now for about 3 hours, I've only succesfully been online about 30 minutes. Which is how long it took me to update my Facebook status.
How I love/hate technology today.
But, I was persistent in my efforts to BLOG because... it was a big day. My first day at a new job. My first full day in my new city. And...
Because after all the mumbling under my breath about the stupid toy computer I'm working on... I got a free mocha caramel frappucino for my troubles.
And maybe God himself didn't say, "Hey barista boy. Why don't you go let that girl over there know that I love her. Even when she wants to throw a tantrum and smush her little sister's old itty-bitty laptop to bits."
Maybe what actually happened was that the barista boy with the dreadlocks and the skateboarding skills said "Hey! Anyone want a frappucino? It's mocha caramel!" And then looking at me, the girl who's been sitting in the corner, looking bitter, for about three hours, "It's free."
Whatever the case... I'm feeling loved. I'm feeling blessed. And much more than frustrated by life's little downs I'm feeling excited about life's very many joys.
Like discovering Starbucks has red velvet cupcakes now! SCORE! And discovering with a little diligence, a lot of patience, and absorbent amounts of dumb luck, it actually is possible to write a blog post without using the handy click function.
Here's a Frappucino cheers that your life is filled with cupcakes - or at least some sweet surprises - very soon!
Love,
Jen
P.S. I have a sneaky suspicion this year is going to be AMAZING!!!
Thanks. When the barista handed me my cupcake I thought - who needs a zoo when you can observe desserts in a habitat like that?? :)

Thanks Katie. Your brother has also been a very courteous host. I'm crossing my fingers we can do crafty things tomorrow, like a sewing lesson perhaps.
Hope this semester is even better than the last!!!
