... that thing about it making the heart grow fonder.
Well I sure hope they're right.
'Cause today we shipped my sister back off to Cali. And in a little bit I'll head back to my new "hometown."
For the first time in almost a month we'll be leaving the empty nesters in a suddenly spacious heap of straw once again... and we'll be out on our own.
And I know it's a little sad for them. And a lot sad for us.
'Cause as our dearly departed comrade Mr. Scott recently said, "Goodbyes stink." So true, so true. They definitely do.
Thankfully, if our jam session on the way to the airport is good indication, that old adage about absence has some definite merit.
After all, we can't be the only ones who well up with happiness to be reunited with old friends... who are overwhelmed with joy when, after a long absence, we find ourselves once again in the company of loved ones... or in this case sharing some really rockin' take-you-back tunes.
You gotta love the magic of a good mix CD, right, to transport you to a simpler time? You also gotta love it if your Dad leaves extra shades lying around the floorboard. What's an MIB dance off without the shades, ya know?
Anyways, I hope you've had a wonderful week (and enjoyed my own little blogging absence).
And if you've suffered your own stinky goodbyes lately, I hope the thought of happy "hello's" will carry you through.
Happy almost Monday friends. And happy happy May.
