Sunday my fiance, sister and I shared a truly wonderful day.
We went to church. (In a barn.)
We went on a brief, mostly-level-grounded hike.
And we attempted to skip rocks. (Newsflash: We suck at it!)
(Well Mikael didn't. And he fairly patiently tried to teach Jessie & I... but, we're not naturals. Our form looks a bit like this. See below.)
We rounded out the evening with the most amazing LARPer sighting of my life.
In the park. Most dressed up. Many sporting foam swords.
Magical, I tell you. Magical.
So much so that I almost forgot the point in the day when my road companions had a good chuckle at my expense.
The experience went something like...
"Here, Jessie, will you get us with a sunflare?"
Jessie pointed out the "blaring" fact that it was 98 percent cloudy.
"There is a sun, so there should be sun flare," I reasoned.
And that is when Mikael told me, "Honey. Your hair is brown."
Then he acted like he was gonna throw me in the river. Funny one, that kid. (This is what that looked like. Lovely.)
And he was right. My hair IS brown, just as it has been since the day I retired the Sun In bottle.
But apparently, it's easier to outgrow the highlights than the blonde moments.
Also, for the record, I DID get my sun flare.
So, all things considred, it was a pretty splendid Sunday!!!
I hope you all had a wonderful, SUNNY weekend.
