So, this is what last weekend felt like...
But, it looked a little something like this... from behind the lense.
A quick drive to Dallas. (Including a stop for a "nutritious meal," of course.)
An utterly unruly photoshoot with my sister and her bestie.
Quality time with two pups too cute for words, and way too quick for my camera.
Saturday morning coffee with my oldest friend, even though I'm older. :/
(Clearly the coffee was good, and I NEED a haircut.)
A birthday lunch and free dessert with the family. (It's hard to top meatloaf.)
A sunshiny day for a soccer tournament and concert.
(My hubby definitely trumps Meatloaf - ohhh, intentional pun. ;) Isn't he cute?
And aren't the bassist's shoes aweSOME?!)
A fiesta in our backyard Mexican oasis, right in the heart of North Texas.
(My mom totally gets me. She went above and beyond transforming our patio.)
(We stayed up just late enough to catch a glimpse; maybe we called it a night too soon. I turned 70 in case you didn't know.)
If you're on instagram you already saw our Sunday morning donut breakfast. Delicious!
Trying to steal my nephew in the new luggage I got for my bday. It was in vain, but worth a shot.
(Miss you Teddy... and Jessie. Thanks Padres for enabling my attempted puppynapping. HI JOSH! Wish you could've been there.)
Also on instagram, a quick stop at NorthPark to ogle stuff at Anthro and to catch up with a friend. Followed up by an emergency run to Sprinkles (my diet has been dangerously low in red velvet lately).
The piece de resistance... a giant slice of cake from my Mom-in-Law. Funfetti. Sprinkles. What a perfectly fun way to wrap up the weekend, with my second family, and a lot, a LOT of sweets. :)
Not shabby for two and a half days, and a heck of a lot of driving.
Thanks camera, and new camera phone, for capturing a wonderful (birthday) weekend.
